Our Values and Commitments

OUR VALUES AND COMMITMENTS

For a centuries Slovak people in rural communities lived in an old sustainable lifestyle. However during the last decades the Carpathian mountains are facing dramatic changes like massive illeageal deforestation, hunting, polluting, land use dismanagement, agresive real estate development and lack of environmental policies for their protection. In this context, we believe ecotourism is a right way for preserving their natural and cultural heritage and giving isolated communities alternate sources of revenue. Therefore we care in our tours to support local communities and support sustainable services while discovering Carpathian mountains and their foothills.

Economical, Social and Environmental sustainability

We are environmentally, socially and economically responsible. We believe it’s possible to behave sustainably by thinking globally and acting locally.

Carpathia Tours offers proffesional services to our clients to enjoy their tours. We want to preserve natural and cultural heritage in Slovakia, to bring people closer to nature, to share with clients authentic experience based on touch with local people, nature and culture. We want to support regions and small countryside bussineses with income from tourism that will allow people to preserve traditions, environment and their way of life.

We try to create quality tours with unique elements - to enjoy a real connection with the people, the landscape, the culture, the food and the environment. We co-operate with NGO´s that are professionals in environmental field. In this way, travelers can learn more about local nature and to hear stories from local people.

Ecotourism is about preserving what the visitor has come to experience. The ecological and cultural capacity of each area must be respected. We ensue that our activities will minimalize impact.
